Greg Deering had just started up Deering Banjo Company in the early 70's when we made a trade. He wanted my 35mm camera to use in making ads for his products and in turn promised to build me a hollow-body electric guitar. At the time I was getting ready to go on the road with a rock band and was very hot for this item. The body was originally from a Gibson EB-2 bass. The neck was made from scratch and the inlays were hand cut by Greg. They are a replica of those found on an "Artist Supreme" Paramount banjo. Greg refinished the guitar for me in the early ninties. It is (as are all Deering's) an exceptional instrument. It sounds and plays with a beautifully unique tone and style.
